Brand New Floral Designer - Brand New Design!

Drum roll please! We are happy to present our new
floral designer, Kate Brack!
Kate joined the EventWorks team during the month of May and she and her
Boston Terrier, Beatrice have quickly become part of our office family!

Kate arrived from New York a year ago where she already had extensive
work experience in the event business. "My husband and I had long
dreamed of living in California. He secured a job and we made the
decision to make the leap. I was working as a lead designer at Floral
Art on Abbot Kinney in Venice but was missing the fast paced, creative
environment of the event design world. Then I heard that EventWorks was
looking for a designer and the rest is history!"

So what gets a New Yorker to dream about the left coast?
Kate: "Actually, the beauty of the California coastline has long been an
inspiration for my designs. There is so much variety in the local
vegetation, from fresh cut blooms to native plants, the landscapes in
California are like no other!
I am also really excited to be here because it is easier to explore and
discover new trends.
So many creative design ideas originate in Los
Angeles."
It did not take Kate long to start a new trend! "Like many designers, I
have long incorporated plants and succulents into my designs. On a
recent trip to the market I was inspired by the silvery, mystical shape
of the air plant. I'm always looking for ways to incorporate living
things into my centerpieces as a way of moving towards a "greener"
future for tabletop design."

Air plants are great from the organic aspect. They are versatile and
offer up alternative styling options for tablescapes because they don't
need to be placed in a container. Better yet, they can be repurposed to
your home or backyard after the event!

"People are being inspired by the otherworldly right now. Think Tim
Burton's Alice in Wonderland or Avatar. The look has a hint of mystery
and a sprinkle of goth. Airplants are the perfect topping."

We recently had a Fabulous Tour of the Fabulous Forum, courtesy of our friend Jill Przelenski, Director, Special Events & Family Entertainment. In a nutshell: the re-invented Forum deserves the media hype it received. Eagles' Glenn Frey exclaimed: “The Forum is the best sounding large building anywhere in the world. Take my word for it, we’ve played them all.” It also offers exquisite event space possibilities that allow us to create a VIP Experience of any size! The legendary Forum Club serves as special entrance for private and corporate events. It's a VIP Experience from the first moment onward as this area has special parking privileges and street access.  Painting and maintenance crews were hard at work inside and outside of  the new hall that reopened in January 2014.  Jill Przelenski: "We don't allow any wear and tear. Inspiration: The Red Line and Elements - Art Projects by Doron Gazit

San Luis Obispo Museum of Art - wrapped in The Red Line by Doron Gazit. Since we last checked in with Doron Gazit, the artist and industrial designer has lined multiple locations in California with The Red Line and his art work is currently on exhibit at the San Luis Obispo Museum of Art as well as The Loft at Liz's in Los Angeles. He is being mentioned in one breath with Cristo! We look forward to working with Doron to wrap an environmentally themed event. We were happy to report on The Red Line at the Dead Sea in September 2015. In the 8 months since, Doron has installed his environmental awareness art project in several locations in drought ravaged California. As always The Red Line concept highlights the impact of Global Warming on the environment. In December of 2015, The Red Line snaked through the Pyramid Lake burn area, just North of Los Angeles. Our Floral Designer Rebecca Motus featured on ABC's The Bachelor on Valentine's Day

Love was on the air last night on ABC's 20th Anniversary Valentine's Day Special of The Bachelor; also covered by People Magazine. The floral decor was designed and created by none other than our floral designer Rebecca Fernandez Motus. We are really proud of Rebecca Motus' achievement: designing and creating all the florals for this primetime TV event! Rebecca: "I met the producers of the show through a friend who recommended me when they were looking for a designer to create the floral decor for this 20th anniversary extravaganza. It was a wonderful opportunity to show my work to millions of people. The special was filmed at the St. Regis Monarch Beach and as everything in television, it took many, many hours to produce this 2-hour special. I spent five days on set, building the floral decor. And those 5 nights were pretty much sleepless. Many days we worked until midnight and I had to get to the Downtown Flower Market by 3AM to get fresh flowers. However, des
