All About Summer - Event Floral Decor: How To Beat The Heat

Image
Summer temperatures reach triple digits. Floral decor wilts as fast as we do. Floral Artist Rebecca Motus to the rescue! Rebecca has created gorgeous floral design that survives tropical conditions in many indoor and outdoor locations for us. Her experience working in Hawai'i, Mexico and the Philippines comes in handy any time the thermometer needle goes up. We may wilt but our floral stays fresh! Rebecca Motus: "I adjust my design and work to the season, the location and the event. Another aspect that comes into play is longevity. Does the floral have to survive several days or is this just one night? It makes all the difference in my choices of flowers and materials I will use." Location: Quintana Roo, Mexico. "We worked together with a local vendor. As it turned out, many aspects of floral work get handled very differently in Mexico. For starters, the flower delivery trucks don't have cooling systems. Secondly, the decor style and assembly technique...

Valentine Floral Design - From EventWorks with LOVE ❤

Image
We have seven days left to turn Valentine's Day into a personal success! We asked our Floral Artist, Rebecca Fernandez Motus, to  share easy-to-do, romantic and very personal design ideas that will amaze every Valentine! Instructions included! A very good substitute for roses are ranunculus . These are bec...

Design Report with Music! We Let The Good Times Roll

Les Bons Temps rolled in Southern California last week - we had the pleasure of creating design and florals for a series of occasions. 2000 guests for two breakfasts, two lunches and two Galas - we brought Black and White Elegance and 1930's New Orleans Jazz style to the evening events.                       Director of Floral Design Kate Brack worked with our wonderfully creative new client to define the look and feel for the two day event. It was essential to create floral that stayed fresh and could be repurposed for several occasions. Consequently, the breakfast, lunch and meeting decor consisted of succulents. Floral artist Rebecca Motus and her team went to work. "We used 5 varieties of organic materials, succulents, green dianthus, lotus pods , textured greenery, orchids. The decor took over 750 stems of black succulents called aeonium  arboreum Schwarzkopf commonly called black beauty or blushing beauty succule...
