Still the King: Michael Jackson is Back!

Image
We saw the "King of Pop" Michael Jackson resurrected last week! His well-reviewed, new album "Xscape" ascended to the No 1 Spot of iTunes charts in 52 - yes! FIFTY TWO! - different countries, including in the U.K. and France, in it's first week of release. Xscape is running neck to neck with Black Keys for No 1 on the Billboard charts and MJ "starred" on last night's Billboard Music Awards in Las Vegas. In the nearly five years since his passing, he has earned 700 million dollars according to Forbes estimates. That sum puts the top living pop stars to shame! DJ Lee Dyson: "While living a sometimes controversial life, Michael Jackson was undoubtedly a musical genius and truly the “King of Pop”. As a DJ he gave me more artillery for the dance floor than almost any other artists in the 80’s, 90’s through today. Maybe matched only by Prince and Madonna. He really didn’t play instruments, so he wrote every song by singing all the parts to tape...

The 80ties Are Back - Premiering "Change Agents"

Dear Friends, It's undeniably an 80ties explosion and we love it! J.R. Ewing is once again winning the ratings race with the new "Dallas". Tom Cruise channels 1987 Rock Gods as Stacie Jaxx in the blockbuster Rock of Ages - and let's not forget that he became a movie star with "Top Gun" in 1986 - and the Sunset Strip really hasn't changed that much! DJ Matt has put his own spin on our favorite decade and he lets us premiere his new 80ties compilation. Tease your hair and put on the shoulder pads and get ready to rock! "That fabulous, funny, tacky, awesome, exciting, inventive decade called "the 80's" seems to be having yet another ride on the nostalgia wave, and rightly so… the 80's were nothing short of amazing (as evidenced by the youth of today copying verbatim, the look and sounds of them! ) To celebrate, please enjoy a side project of mine called "Change Agent" that makes videos composed of hundreds of video sam...

This Is How We Like To Remember Michael Jackson

Image
Dear Friends, The sordid, sad news headlines keep coming but we prefer to remember the King of Pop for the amazing entertainment genius that he was. We in the event industry have a lot to be thankful for to Michael Jackson. His music and dance skills still entertain, more than two decades past the zenith of his career. And that will be his legacy in our minds. DJ Matt Cornwall: "As a DJ, I've spent alot of time with Michael. I always tend to gravitate to the "b-sides" of artists , and definitely did with Michael Jackson's music, as I often believe that this is where a lot of their artistry and creativity lie. Today's song choice celebrates a lesser known, quiet, subtle, deeply sensitive and warm "King of Pop." It's beautiful, elegant and simple." We hope you enjoy "Be Not Always" Thank you for reading and listening! Janet Elkins
