Coachella 2019 - 167 Artists - Whom Do You Really Need To Know? We Asked EXPERT DJ AmRo For His Selection And A Curated Playlist.

Head out to Indio, CA. The not-to-be-missed Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival starts this Friday.

167 musical artists take the stages over two 3-day twin weekends.
We know the headliners, Ariana Grande and Childish Gambino. Solange Knowles returns, without her sister, this year. But whom do we must get to know among the up-and-coming new artists in 2019?
We asked our expert, DJ AmRo, Chief Musical Curator and Owner of The Amani Experience.
Here are his Top 5 Artists to Know and a curated Spotify Playlist.

Amani Roberts:

"We are just days away from Coachella 2019 which promises to be a memorable two weekend experience. There may be a Kanye appearance and potentially other surprise guests so make sure you show up early and stay for all of the acts. You are aware of many of the more popular acts that will be at Coachella (Childish Gambino, The 1975, Khalid, Solange, Kacey Musgraves, Janelle Monae, Ariana Grande and Wiz Khalifa), but we wanted to share a few of the artists who you need to know.

1) H.E.R. - Fresh off winning two Grammy Awards in 2019 for best R&B Album and Best R&B Performance, H.E.R. has a single (Hard Place) that is quickly climbing the charts and may become one of the best songs of 2019. To witness how far she has come from covering Alicia Keys on “The Today Show” to now is staggering and we are just witnessing the beginning of what is to be a long and storied career.

2) Alice Merton - This German-born singer/songwriter has reached the top of the charts in France, Germany, Austria, Italy Switzerland and the U.S. A unique mix of pop, rock, alternative with a dash of R&B/funk, Alice's lyrics and music are memorable and will have you singing and dancing along in the desert heat.

3) Blackpink - This popular K-Pop group has been gaining steam since 2016 and is on their way to the international mainstream. A mixture of K-pop, EDM, hip-hop and and J-pop, there is a reason why Blackpink is the highest charting K-pop female group in Billboard Hot 100 and Billboard 200 history.

4) Ella Mai - Who holds the record for most weeks at Number 1 for a woman on the R&B/Hip Hop Airplay chart? Who did Rolling Stone say had the “biggest single for a breakout female in the past 10 years” with ‘Boo’d Up’? That would be UK born Ella Mai, and I highly recommend catching her live show at Coachella. Look for a potential duet with H.E.R.

5) Kaytranada - I couldn’t go through this entire list without listing a DJ & Music Producer. This native from Haiti has collaborated with a select list of artists including Aluna George, Vic Mensa, Anderson Paak and others. His mix of electronic, hip-hop, R&B and dance will be candy for your ears.

Honorable Mention: CHVRCHES, J Balvin, DVSN and Pusha T."
