EventWorks Presents: Confessions of a DJ
Dear Friends! We are always amazed by DJ Matt's talent for choosing the greatest musical mix for any event. So we are wondering: what drives him? Where do these ideas come from? We have been probing .... Matt agreed to "confess" and reveal some of the sources of the musical magic. For starters, he reveals his admiration for David Byrne and Talking Heads. "Well, this isn't so much a confession at this point, as it is, simply sockin' it to ya with the truth!! Music is a primordial force, a life-affirming, liberating power. In the famous Walter Pater quote "All art aspires to the condition of music" I believe he meant this not only figuratively, but literally, as music literally is a physical force (that of actual physical vibrations etc ) !
